 The hydrocylone filter or tangential flow filter or sand centrifugal remover is often considered a pre-filter in the cleaning of very sandy liquids/waters or waters/liquids saturated by solid particles such as grit or in general by particles heavier than water

It is usually mounted before the actual filtration installation.
Without special maintenance it filtrates waters coming from:

  • rivers
  • lakes
  • bores

Le percentuali di depositi solidi eliminati raggiunge anche il 90%.

What it filtrate:
It assures the filtration of little solid particles such as:

  •  sand
  • grit
  • solid particles of varius kinds

Models of Hydrocyclones with sizes up to Ø 3/4", filtrate particles up to 37-40 µ.
Models of Ø 6" filtrate particles up to 74-75 µ..

Generally, rather than installing a big sized hydrocyclone, it is advisable to mount smaller hydrocyclones in battery.

Cleaning

The Hydrocyclone Filter does not need special maintenance or cleaning. If properly installed, it assures a constant and continuous operation.

However, for those models coming with bottom residuals tank it is seldom required to empty it.
